About Us

Northwest Florida Paralegal Association (“NWFPA”) (formerly Pensacola Legal Assistants) was formed on August 12, 1981, to encourage a high order of ethical and professional attainment, further education among members of the profession, establish good fellowship among society members and members of the legal community, and cooperate with the bar association. The organization is nonsectarian, nonpartisan, nonprofit, nonunion and is an affiliate of the National Association of Legal Assistants, Inc. (“NALA”).  Deb Becker, CLA, coordinated the formation of the chapter and served as its first president. The organization has grown to over 145 members, including 33 Certified Paralegals (CP’s) and/or Advanced Certified Paralegals (ACP’s), and 86 Florida Registered Paralegals (FRP’s).

  • Activities of the Northwest Florida Paralegal Association include meetings on the fourth Tuesday of every month during which time guest speakers address the association.
  • Monthly meetings are streamed live online for remote attendees that live too far to attend in person.
  • Business meetings are held quarterly.
  • Seminars are held throughout the year on various legal topics of interest.
  • There are 15 various committees in which members are encouraged to participate ranging from community service to newsletter committees.
