Welcome to NWFPA!

Northwest Florida Paralegal Association (formerly Pensacola Legal Assistants) was formed on August 12, 1981, to encourage a high order of ethical and professional attainment, further education among members of the profession, establish good fellowship among society members and members of the legal community, and cooperate with the bar association. The organization is nonsectarian, nonpartisan, nonprofit, nonunion and is an affiliate of the National Association of Legal Assistants, Inc. Deb Becker, CLA, coordinated the formation of the chapter and served as its first president. The organization has grown to over 100 members and boasts 29 Certified Legal Assistants (CLAS's), two of whom have earned the title of Civil Litigation Specialists (CLAS).

  • Activities of the Northwest Florida Paralegal Association include meetings on the fourth Tuesday of every month during which time guest speakers address the association.
  • Business meetings are held quarterly.
  • Seminars are held throughout the year on various law related topics of interest to the membership.
  • There are 15 various committees in which members are encouraged to participate.

The Northwest Florida Paralegal Association and the Pensacola Legal Support Specialists Association cordially invite you to attend. The topic will be, " The Top 5 Things You Should Know About Your Local Judges-Straight From The JA's." This event has been approved for one CLE credit.

Speakers will include Debbie Coker (Judge Skievaski), Faye Westholm (Judge Geeker), Miriam Lane (Judge Bell), Ardye Graham (Judge Terrell), and Lisa Emmons (Judge Jones).
